Walking into a Mall of Vendors on Madison Ave

There is a Market sale in Manhattan that occurs every saturday and sunday...however this time it was located on Madison Ave btw 42nd street and 59th st. It was a long walk...lol

While walking down the blocks and passing alot of vendors..I walked up on a spot called Wild Bills.. It reminded me of looking at old western movies and how the cowboys or town people would get their drinks from the bar

Drinks are in barrels.. the only thing that makes it a little different.. is that there is soda in the barrels instead of beer like in the western movies.

Here... they were selling silver tin mugs, tin jugs and plastic cups to people.. Drinks were unlimited. DCR

A Great Love

A Great Love
I love to see a father and son together who are close. I believe when a parent is close to their
child, later the child will be a better parent.
Especially boys benefit from a close
relationship with their fathers.

Everyone in New York is so stylish. They create their own style. They latest rage in New York is vintage clothes. I have a lot of old clothes in my closets that I can use. Also I noticed that people are going into business. They are doing their own thing in order to try and make money. They are young and they should try and do it now.

Enjoyment

This month has been one that we have had so much rain. On Tuesday evening the creator held back the rain and we took some beautiful shots of beauty and people enjoying it. MDR

What do you see?

Every cloud has it own unique shape and from moment to moment the shape seem to change to something else. The children and I were walking on Tuesday evening and we were observing the clouds. The children were saying what each cloud shape appeared to look like to them. We came to one conclusion no two children saw the same thing. What do you see when you take a really hard look at them? MDR

Sunday, June 14, 2009

As I took these pictures I began to see that the children in the pictures joined together with one purpose in mind, to have fun. When looking out with your natural eyes we see children playing. But what I see is generation of work coming down to this one moment. We have children from different countries and cultures together not being American, African, Mexican, Haitian or etc (not being where they came from). They are all, without a doubt, being children .

God' great canvas

The sky is God's great canvas and on it he paints what he wants. Take a look at these clouds and the formation they make. As you know it rained just about eveyday this past week. On some days we had beautiful moments of sunshine and within minutes they were interupted by spring showers. It is a reminder that out of all we may feel that we control, there is a higher power that control's it all. MDR

On Friday, my daugther and I were walking along beside city hall and we just happen to be in the right place at the right time. A young man asked us to come inand be a part of this gathering. This is a group of school cleaner fighting to keep out dirty budget cut and possible save some jobs. MDR

Memorial to the Ancestors at Coney Island June 13, 2009

Every year, people of African descent gather at Coney Island at the Tribute to Our Ancestors of the Middle Passage.  We are celebrating and remembering those Africans who lost their lives during the slave trade.  They crossed the Atlantic Ocean and died under horrible conditions for over 400 years.  They are nameless, graveless and almost forgotten.  But one day a year, we, as a community, remember them.   But every day, we should live our lives, in the best we canin  honor of them and our ancestors who survived so that we could live.   "We are the dream of the slaves." Do you think they could have never imagined the opportunities that we have now?
